The Budgeting Request form for missions can be used if your church has missionaries and the vision to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the world.
Missions is a very important part of the church body as a whole, and in these tough economic times you certainly need to budget for this vision also.
The Budgeting Request form for Missions takes into consideration the budget for the upcoming new year and states a deadline to submit the form into the church office so it can have the appropriate time to get approval or disapproval before the monies are actually needed for this ministry.
Your church could have a Mission Budgeting Team available to review these submissions before the final approval process begins. The Mission Budgeting Team would consider submissions that meet the following criteria:
- The Mission Budgeting Team must have received a written request for support;
- One or more members of ______________ Church or a standing church committee must sponsor the mission project;
- The sponsor(s) must agree to submit substantive written quarterly reports to the _______________ Church concerning the status
of the supported mission activity; - The mission project must have the involvement of ___________ Church members and/or _________________________ Church Committee support; and
- The financial commitment shall be for one year only. Exceptions to this condition shall be individually presented to and approved by the church.
Keep in mind that your missionary budget is only a tool, and don't become a slave to your long term financial goals. God just might surprise you with some new and exciting ministry opportunities that you have not anticipated, but also be consistent with using your budgetary goals as a guide.
Request an annual report from your missionaries that clearly presents their ministry priorities. Always treat your missionaries with grace and respect as they are servants of the King. Remember to give them ample advance notice if you have to decrease their support in order to obtain a goal that you believe God has inspired.
Also, have church missions policies and/or strategies in place to help you in other areas of your budget development.
