Pastor Appreciation is in the month of October every year. The entire month of October has been set aside for honoring our Pastor(s). This is an opportunity for us to rally around our Pastor(s) and let them know just how we appreciate and love them.

Pastor Appreciation Day/Service can be any day throughout the month that is good for your church to present gifts, etc. to your Pastor(s). The ideas below will help you prepare for your Special Pastor Appreciation Service at your church.

Helium Balloon Prayers Reaching Heaven

Make a list of things to pray for concerning your Pastor(s) and Family(s) such as:

• Blessing your Pastor & Family
• Pastor’s Strength
• Pastor’s Spouse’s Strength
• Each of their Names Mentioned
• Wisdom & Spiritual Blessings
• Perfect Health Blessings
• Financial Blessings

These are just a few prayers you might think about along with your personal prayers. Place each of these prayers on a strip of paper and tie it to a helium balloon. Make sure they are helium balloons so they will rise toward the sky when released.

Pastor Appreciation Special Church Service

Gather the congregation outside and give each person a balloon with a prayer tied on it. Have each person read the prayer request attached to their balloon.
With every person together, let the balloons go and each person prays for the request tied to their balloon.

The Pastor and congregation will actually see how many prayers are reaching Heaven for him and his family. Make sure that your Pastor gets a list of each prayer request that was written on each balloon. This is a very unique way to show appreciation to your Pastor and his family on this very special occasion.

PowerPoint Presentation DVD for Pastor and Family

If you have someone in your church that has the skills and programs on their computer as so many do in this day and time and they know how to put together a PowerPoint Presentation DVD with pictures of their Pastor and family throughout the years at the events, outings and services as being Pastor have them create a DVD presentation.

This is a very loving way to show appreciation to your Pastor and family. After all, digital cameras make this task easier along with the software programs that many of us already have on our computers. You can have music playing during the presentation or someone could be reading Pastor Appreciation Poems.

If you have a special sign language group such as we do in our church (“God Speaking” Group) you can have them signing to the Pastor’s favorite songs as the pictures are being displayed on the screen. We did this on the first day of
our Youth Camp last year to celebrate 10 Years of Front Lines Youth Camp.

Our presentation showed pictures of every year of Front Lines Youth Camp and we picked the best choir worship song at out each year and as they were showing pictures of that year our “God Speaking” sign language group was signing to the worship songs. He cried throughout the entire presentation, it was very special to our Pastors and the entire church. Be sure to burn a copy of the Pastor Appreciation DVD Presentation for your Pastor and family. Also, burn copies of the DVD off for the church on a “donation basis only” for another way to give to your Pastor as a Love Offering for him and his family.

Try and get the donations before the Pastor Appreciation Special Service so you can give him the Love Offering sometime during the church service.
You can also do this same idea for your Youth Ministers, etc. at a different time or you might want to do it at the same time, that’s up to you and your church of course. Let your youth get involved with putting this presentation together to show their appreciation for their Youth Minister.
