Job descriptions are very important for churches and/or any organization with employees or volunteers. Whether they have employees or volunteers, church job descriptions should be available before the new position is filled.
Most every church has a church nursery and not always but most of the time has employees or volunteers who run it during the church services. If your church has a nursery with workers then you should have a job description available if not check out the free sample below.
The sample Church Nursery job description for workers below includes:
- Heading - Includes church name and job description title along with job title, reports to and position status.
- Purpose - To provide dependable, safe, secure and nurturing care to the children while at church, ages 0 through 4 years old in a clean environment.
- Responsibilities - Responsible for providing age-appropriate care which includes: feeding, changing diapers (Universal precautions should always be used while
changing diapers or time of body fluids.), escorting children to the bathroom, maintaining a safe environment, putting children down for naps, holding children if needed, and sitting with and cheerfully interacting with children through games, stories, play and prayer. - Qualifications - 1. Experience in caring for children between the ages of 0 to 4 with the ability to adapt and interact with a variety of personalities. (See job description below for more on the Qualifications.)
- Termination Policy - There will be a 90-day probationary period where either party may terminate employment without cause. Beyond this, a two-week notice is expected. (See job description below for more on the Termination Policy.)
- Statement - I have read and received a copy of my job description. I understand this overrides anything I have been given or told in the past. I further understand that I am expected to follow my job as outlined above, and that if I have any questions concerning what is expected of me, I will speak with my immediate supervisor identified above.
- Church Nursery Worker's Signature and Current Date - Where the new hire or volunteer has to sign that they have read their job description and agree with it and then date it.
- Revised Date - The last date the policy was revised.
