The Proof of Marriage Letter is available free below for your church administrative office to download, customize, have Pastor sign, and then print for your church to give to their members upon request if they for any reason (to get marriage license, etc.) need to prove the Pastor has know the Bride-to-Be and Groom-to-Be for a certain number or amount of years, etc.
There are wedding guidelines for each state in the United States. Certain states in the U.S. require specific documentation that you have to submit in order to get a marriage license. It is the legal responsibility of each individual minister (Pastor, etc.) to know and comply with the law in his or her state where the marriage is to be officiated.
If a marriage is to be performed in a certain state which requires documentation from their church of the minister's authority to officiate the marriage, this documentation or letter should be provided free of charge by the church. However, if the church has to get the letter or documentation notarized to ensure legalization then they can charge a notary fee if needed.
If the members (Bride-To-Be, Groom-To-Be) whom are making the request for documentation wish to help the church with a free-will donation, the church can sincerely and graciously accept the donation.

My name is [Pastor’s Name], born in [Place] on [Date].
This letter will confirm that I have known [Groom-to-Be] and [Bride-to-Be] for about years now. I maintain regular contact with them through the church considering I’m their Pastor at [Church Name]. They have a happy and strong relationship and love each other very much.
I will be performing the marriage ceremony on [Date] at [Time]. The ceremony will be held at the [Place].
If you have any questions regarding the marriage ceremony or my relationship with them, please feel free to contact me anytime, at [Phone], or by mail at {Email Address].
Yours Truly,
[Pastor’s Signature]
