Free Christmas cards available free to download and print along with Thank You Cards, Card List/Form, Christmas Stationery, etc.
Cards are special at Christmas time creating the atmosphere and spirit the holiday. These cards are sent as part of the traditional celebration of Christmas in order to express between people a range of feelings related to the Christmas holiday and season. These cards are usually exchanged during the weeks before Christmas Day by many people including non-Christians in America and in Asia.
The traditional card at Christmas time states "Wishing You a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year". There are many different types of cards with some expressing more religious feelings containing a religious poem, prayer and/or Biblical verse(s). These, of course, are my favorite. After all, what is Christmas all about? Isn't it all about the birth of Jesus? I think all to often people tend to forget just exactly what Christmas is all about and need to be reminded.
A Little of Christmas History for the Holiday Cards
The first commercial cards for Christmas were commissioned by Sir Henry Cole in London in 1843 and featured an illustration by John Callcott Horsley. Official cards for Christmas began with Queen Victoria in the 1840s. The British royal family's cards are generally portraits reflecting significant personal events of the year. In 1953, President Dwight D. Eisenhower issued the first official White House card. These cards usually depict White House scenes as rendered by prominent American artists. The number of recipients has snowballed over the decades from just 2,000 in 1961 to 1.4 million in 2005.
Also, you can find cards such as the thank you cards that become a necessity when you receive your Christmas gifts and want to show your appreciation and thank you for their generosity and love.
The Christmas Thank You Card above is available to download below along with a beautiful Christmas stationery also.
There is also a Card List for Christmas to download to help you when you are trying to remember family member's names, addresses... This is very useful form around the Christmas holidays.
These cards are free to print and give to your special family and friends this Christmas holiday season.
