I hope everyone had a Blessed Christmas and New Year. I also hope we have all made our New Year Resolutions and that maybe we are getting close or maybe even starting to put them into action. Annual Contribution Letters

Many people make weekly, monthly or annual donations to their church. Many of them use these donations as a tax cut on their income taxes at the end of the year.

The Church Treasurer, Church Secretary or the person in charge of tracking the church member's contributions should always send out the Annual Contribution Letters immediately after the first of each year thanking them for their donations. You have to remember that some of your church members use these letters for their income taxes and they can't finish their taxes without them.

The Annual Contribution Letter(s) must include:

  • Church Name and Address
  • Church Phone Number (Church Treasurer's phone number is preferred)
  • Church Member or Donor's Name and Address
  • Donation Year/Date
  • Donation Amount (If Annual, need total for past year + Itemized Statement of contributions)
  • IRS Statement (included in the free letters below for tax purposes)

The Annual Contribution Letters should be contributions only. The NonCash contributions should not be included. The NonCash Contribution form can be used for NonCash donations.

Contributions Receipt Rules
Contributions receipt rules have changed! Since the 2007 tax year, a donor may only deduct a donation by cash or check if they have a receipt or bank record of the donation.
